"Finding the Shine in Young Minds"
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Welcome to the Sunny Days Coaching FAQs! You'll find answers about services and scheduling. Feel free reach out to Zoe if you have any other questions or queries - she's here to help!

Where is Sunny day Coaching based?
Sunny days coaching is based in Burghfield Common, Berkshire. 10 minutes from the M4 Junction 11.
How much does Coaching cost?
Six sessions are recommended to ensure consistency and to fully benefit your child. However, I understand that you may prefer to start with a single session for your child to settle. A single session is £50, while the 6-session package is available at a rate of £45 per session. If you have booked a single trial session and decide to continue, the lower rate of £45 will be charged for further sessions.
How many sessions will I need to book?
A block of 6 weekly sessions is recommended to provide your child with the consistent support they need to thrive. Booking 6 sessions, allows your coach to establish effective tools and goals that will truly make a difference. You have the flexibility to start with fewer sessions if you prefer, after the initial block, you can choose to schedule additional sessions or have them as needed. Please be advised that a block of 6 sessions must be used within 6 months.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. However, for your child/teen to get the most out of coaching, I recommend an in person meet up. Connecting face to face is always the better option, however I understand that there are times when online works for families, or if there is significant distance to travel from home. Please keep in mind, that younger children find it harder to engage in online sessions, and if at all possible, in person coaching is advisable.
What does a session look like?
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is designed especially for children and teenagers. The time is child focussed, giving them space to explore emotions and develop helpful coping skills.

I usually begin our first meeting with simple games such as Jenga, Top Trumps or Would You Rather. This helps create a relaxed atmosphere so your child can feel comfortable and begin building a trusting relationship with me.

Future sessions are tailored to your child’s needs. In each session your child will choose something they would like to work on, and we will revisit their progress together in future sessions.

Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay for the first 10 minutes to help their child settle in. After this I usually work one to one with the child, as they often feel more comfortable speaking freely in their own space. There is a nearby café which is open until 4pm, or grab a Tchibo coffee at the Post Office, a Costa from Tesco or a Starbucks from the garage! If you would like to wait, you are welcome to remain in your car in the driveway.
Will there be anything to do between sessions?
Yes, sometimes your young person will have some "homework." During sessions, they will have come up with an action plan to move towards their goal. Ideally we encourage children to practice these activities independently to build resilience, however they may require some parental/caregiver input depending on age and/or maturity.
What can I help with?
Coaching can help children who are experiencing anxiety, worry or stress, struggling with confidence or motivation, finding school difficult, feeling overwhelmed by emotions, or needing support with boundaries and behaviour.
What I am unable help with?
Your child’s wellbeing is always the priority. While coaching can support many emotional and behavioural challenges, there are some situations that require specialist clinical services.

I do not provide diagnosis, clinical assessment or therapeutic treatment for significant trauma, abuse, eating disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, psychosis, personality disorders or other complex mental health conditions.

If a child is self harming, expressing suicidal thoughts or is at immediate risk, urgent medical support should be sought through your GP, NHS 111, or emergency services.

Where appropriate, coaching may be able to offer supportive, skills based input alongside or while waiting for specialist services. I am always happy to discuss whether coaching is suitable for your child’s circumstances.
How to book in?
To get started, please email me at zoe@sunnydaycoaching.co.uk or send a WhatsApp message or call on 07976 737750 with a brief outline of the support you are looking for.

If it sounds like something I may be able to help with, I will arrange a 20–30 minute WhatsApp video call with you. This gives us the opportunity to talk things through, understand your expectations, and make sure coaching is the right type of support for your child.

If I feel your child would be better supported by another service, I will always be honest about this. My work has clear ethical boundaries, and if something sits outside my scope of practice I will let you know at this stage.

If we both feel that coaching is a good fit and you would like to continue, I will send you a booking form to complete and return so that I can gather the information needed before confirming arrangements.

Once the completed booking form has been received, I will send a coaching agreement and invoice, along with the proposed start date for sessions.

Sessions are confirmed once payment has been received via bank transfer.
What days do I offer sessions?
I offer coaching sessions Monday - Friday during the school day, after school, and early evening. I also coach on Saturday mornings.
Can I cancel sessions?
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

I completely understand that illness or unexpected situations can happen. However, appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full, as this time has been reserved specifically for your child and cannot usually be offered to another family at short notice. In exceptional circumstances, late cancellations may be reviewed at my discretion. If I need to cancel a session and you choose not to rearrange, a full refund will be given.
